Summer camp comes to a close

Five weeks goes incredibly quickly when you're having fun!

They say to never work with children or animals in show business, I would say I regret my decision, but I seriously don't! The last five weeks working as the art and craft instructor has been fantastic, and it's a real joy to see how the children are inspired by the sessions I run, and it's also given me some ideas for creating a sketchbook to inspire my textiles from how different minds react to basic instructions  (ideas Borrowed!)

I had my 21st birthday a couple of days ago, and it was fantactic, they had organised a special fire drill just so the whole of camp could sing happy birthday, and a few staff members had come into work earlier than they needed to so they could put up a banner and blow up some balloons!

I'miss kind of sad to see camp ending, but the last five weeks have certainly been memorable, and a nice run up to my next placement which may or may not be less chaotic than this. 

Next stop on my placement journey, AUSTRALIA! (I reallyou ought to get packing...)

What a Night!

Well, what a week this has been! I was lucky enough to to have been shortlisted for an award within Uni, and I have to say, Huddersfield students union held a fantastic evening, which I shared with my friends, The awards in was shortlisted for was the course rep, Extra mile award, where I was nominated by fellow course mates for the award and then chosen from 200 entries to be shortlisted. Much to my surprise I won the award, but even if i hadn't, i had such a fantastic night to celebrate being a course rep.

Hi All! 

I'm Cassie Townsend and I am a costume designer and maker in training at the University of Huddersfield. I've just finished my second year at uni and currently on placement, I want to show you a little of what inspires me to create as well as share my exciting experiences throughout uni and possibly following on from that. Such as what goes on during my placement year and any Projects I'might up to that I can share with you.
